NZWPW Power Play 6 at Walter Nash Stadium

Last Thursday night (April 23rd) the New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling (NZWPW) held their Power Play 6 show at the Walter Nash Stadium in Taita. Former WWE wrestler Chris "Masterpiece" Masters was the special international guest and we were able to arrange an interview with him at the venue. Chris spoke on camera about what it is like to tour the Australasian wrestling circuit and his views of what he has seen of the New Zealand wrestling scene.

Also present at the event that evening was television reporter Sonya Wilson from TV2's 20/20 current affairs show. She and her cameraman were conducting interviews for an item she is putting together - also about the pro wrestling scene in New Zealand. We followed her into the changing rooms to film them filming the NZWPW wrestlers.

It was a really entertaining night and many thanks to NZWPW organisers for letting us cover the event. We had two cameras on hand and shot some great stuff of the wrestling matches and the enthusiastic crowd. Below are some more photos from Power Play 6.

Catching up again with The Canadian Wolverine

Tonight we caught up again with Tony Wolf, "The Canadian Wolverine" from the late 1980's and early 1990s, for another interview following on from the one we shot with him last month. Due to time constraints at our first meeting we ended up feeling that we didn't have enough time for Tony to tell us in depth and on camera about his past wrestling career.
Luckily he was briefly passing through Wellington again this week before heading back to his current home in the United States. He managed to squeeze in some time for us again and we are really grateful. Thanks Tony.

Armageddon Weekend

On Sunday we shot the Impact Pro Wrestling matches at the Armageddon Expo and recorded several interviews as well. We want to thank IPW for being incredibly gracious and allowing us the opportunity to get as much close-up footage as we did. They performed some incredible work and we are really excited about what we have to edit with. Adam is working on a short montage of the weekend's highlights which we will upload here soon.
We also want to thank Armageddon organiser Bill Geradts for not only giving us permission to film at the event but also letting us interview him about how he sees wrestling fit in with the other expo displays.
Meanwhile here are a few photos from yesterday . . .

Shooting this weekend at Armageddon

The Armageddon Pulp Culture Expo has rolled into Wellington this weekend and the Auckland based Impact Pro Wrestling will be putting on shows there twice daily.
Yesterday we were lucky enough to be allowed to shoot the IPW team setting up their mat inside the waterfront shed which adjoins the TSB Arena venue and tomorrow we will be there to shoot some of the matches and conduct interviews with the wrestlers and organisers.
Once we've finished Adam is going to cut together a short montage of the footage to upload onto this site - keep an eye out for it soon.
